Three Horse Plow was formed in 2003, when Greg Carter (mandolin and vocals), Dennis Moore (guitar and vocals), and John Myers (banjo) were introduced by a mutual musician friend in Austin, Texas. With the addition of Win Bent (bass and vocals), they began pursuing their own interpretations of hard driving instrumentals and heartfelt two and three part harmony adaptations of the old time tunes they loved. The group draws on the traditional sounds of bluegrass, leavened with a little Austin attitude and an occasional nod to their modern musical influences. Whether dusting off an old favorite or unwrapping a contemporary classic, Three Horse Plow creates a string band sound rooted in tradition but suited for today.
